Effective:[TODAY'S DATE]. Echelon Day Care ("we") operates this portal to provide childcare program management services to enrolled families.
Account info (name, email), child info (name, date of birth, classroom, attendance, daily activity logs, photos when uploaded), guardian relationships, billing records, messages between families and educators, and basic technical data (IP, user-agent) for security.
To deliver childcare services, communicate with families, comply with BC childcare regulations (record-keeping requirements), and process tuition payments.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (managed by our database provider in the Canada region). Access is restricted by role (parents see only their children; educators see only their assigned classrooms; administrators have program-wide access). Authentication uses bcrypt-hashed passwords and account lockout protection.
Hosted on Vercel (Canada/US edge) and Neon Postgres (Canada Central — aws-ca-central-1). Email delivery via Resend (US). We do not sell or share data with third parties for marketing.
Active family records are kept while enrolled. After withdrawal, records are kept for 7 years to comply with BC child-care licensing record-keeping requirements, then deleted on request or routine purge.
You may request a copy of your personal information, request correction of inaccuracies, or request deletion (subject to legal retention requirements). Email echelondaycare@hotmail.com to make a request. We will respond within 30 days.
In the event of a privacy breach posing real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the BC Information and Privacy Commissioner as required by law.
This service is operated for the benefit of enrolled children. All data about a child is accessible only to that child's authorized guardians and the daycare's licensed staff.
